The Balwyn Community Centre is a multi-use community facility including Childcare, Maternal & Child Health, Community Activity Rooms, Health and Well Being Room, Art Studios, Cooking Demonstration Room and extensive outdoor landscaped spaces.
It is an adaptive use of heritage building. The facility includes the refurbishment of the existing 1930’s building. This building along with the new extension will provide new community uses.
The facility co- locates Council services, as well as community co-operative run services. The building design had to meet the differing organisational models for these entities, as well as provide provision for interlinked facilities and programs.
